SIX knives found during weapons sweep in Hounslow town centre

Knives-HounslowPolice in Hounslow have uncovered six knives and six bags of cannabis during weapons sweeps on Thursday (April 14).

The kitchen knives, with blades varying from three to six inches long, were found at Inwood Park, in Inwood Road, Hounslow.

The drugs were found in nearby Gilbert Street, just off High Street, Hounslow.

Sergeant Mark Ogunwe, of Hounslow police , said the knives were initially found by a park keeper in a flowerbed a couple of weeks ago but were handed over during the weapons sweep. It is not known how long they had been there.

“This was a good result. We’ve removed a number of knives from the street which could potentially have been used in a future violent incident” he told getwestlondon .

He said the knives, which will now be destroyed along with the drugs, were not believed to be connected to any previous crime and no one had been arrested in connection with their discovery.

In February this year, Andrzej Sedzak was jailed for six years for slashing a man’s throat in Inwood Park in a row over a football.
